Today we had Mr. Derek Kinkade visit the 3rd grade. Mr. Kinkade is the chair meterologist for WTVM. He shared Kt of information with us on weather. We even saw some cool video clips.

2013 Book Fair
Our school book fair begins tomorrow. It will run from October 18 to October 29. Our class day to shop will be on Friday, October 18. However, students are allowed to shop any day during open library time. The book fair will also be open during PTO on Tuesday, October 29. The book fair is a great place to stock up on Accelerated Reader books.

and teachers wore orange today in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month.

Cancer One Sweet Treat at a Time”
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, second grade
students are going to have a bake sale. All proceeds will be donated to Relay
for Life in honor of Ms. Mary Jane Riley, all of those who have won the battle,
those who have lost the battle, those who are fighting the battle, and those
who may have to take on this battle.
When: Friday, October 18th, after
lunch.

Science Life Cycle Bonus Project
In
science the past several weeks we have been studying animal and plant life
cycles. Students were given the opportunity
to complete a project at home for bonus points.
The project was to complete a shoe box diorama of a plant or animal life
cycle of their choice.
